HTML Sucks
HTML is a language that has changed considerably over the years. What began as a very simple, straightforward way to present text information has become the standard for hundreds of millions of people and billions of documents.
The nice thing about HTML (at least the pre-4.0 versions) is how simple it is for anyone to create documents, even without any fancy editors such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver. I’ve been a programmer for twenty-five years now and I have become used to convoluted language such as C and FORTRAN that require years of training and experience. Yet I have found people creating websites by hand that I would never have expected – people who don’t know the first thing about computers are creating wonderful websites without any formal training.
